DIY Pom Pom Wreath Tutorial

I love the look of Pom Pom wreaths.  They are so fluffy and they are super easy to make.

You will need
Pom Pom Makers (you can get them from JoAnn's for $7 here )
Yarn.  (I used 2 different colors and textures Cream White)
Foam Wreath
Hot glue gun
Hot glue

First you are going to open your pom pom makers up and wrap the yarn around both sides.  It doesn't have to me perfect but I like to make sure it is wrapped tight and close to each other.

After it is wrapped you will close both sides and it will look like this

Now you are going to run your scissors down the middle and cut your yarn so it looks like this

Next take a piece of yarn and wrap it around the center of your Pom Pom maker and tie it really tight.

After you have tired it you can take the maker off and you will have a very cute little pom pom

I started on the inside of my wreath alternating colors.  I attached the pom poms to my wreath with hot glue.  I put a dab of glue where I wanted the pom pom and pressed it firmly until the glue cooled down enough to hold the pom pom in place

After I finished the inside I started another row and continued the same pattern around my wreath.  After that row was complete I did one last row around the back making it a total of 3 rows.  I did squish my pom poms together to make the wreath as full as possible.

And here is what your wreath will look like!
This project took me a few hours to complete but it was well worth it!
I do sell the love cutouts in my Etsy store

Our Landing

The top of our stairs has always been an awkward space.
There are no hallways just a landing filled with doors.
This space has been untouched for quite awhile, as I didn't know exactly what to do.  There isn't much space up there for furniture.

Here is the before...a lonely clock against the wall

And here is it after!  I love this gallery wall.  It is my all time favorite.

I bought this mirror not really knowing what I was going to do with it, but I loved it so much I couldn't pass it up.  And as luck would have it, it fits perfectly in between these doors!

My girls love to dance in front of this mirror too!  It is known as the princess mirror around here!

You can see all the details on my Gallery Wall here
And the details on my clock are here

Coral and Teal Baby Shower

Yesterday I got to throw a baby shower for our new neighbors.
They are expecting their first baby girl, what an exciting time of life.
The babies nursery is going to be coral and teal so we used the same colors for our shower.

I have been wanting to make a naked cake for sometime, and this was the perfect excuse!
For the cake topper I cut out this cute Girl sign, it is now available in my shop for purchase (link here)  And as luck would have it when I walked into Target there sat coral roses, it was like they knew I was coming.

I found the coral Sixlets and teal gum balls at JoAnn's.

My good friend helped me out so much by making these DELICIOUS cake pops.

My neighbor made these marshmallow pops for us.  The marshmallow pops above are covered in chocolate and dusted with Oreos.
The ones below are s'more pops, my favorites!

The shower turned out great.  I got to chat and laugh with friends!  And now my house is clean!!

Shop the House Challenge

The New Year often brings challenges, goals, budgets and many other changes. As a home decor lover that tries to keep things as frugal as possible, I wanted to put some focus on the idea of “shop the house”. I've teamed up with some other bloggers to encourage us as bloggers to get creative with things we already have and also to inspire you all to shop your house and be resourceful. We are each selecting one area of our house that we will use throughout the entire challenge. For the next 4 months we will completely restyle the space using only items that we already own. We can DIY or transform a piece but only if we had the items on hand for the project.

I have chosen my family room for this challenge. Is it is the one room I have been wanting to rearrange and it has been put off for far too long. This challenge is great motivation for me to get in gear!

Here is how my room currently looks.  I do have a few plans/ideas I hope to implement in the coming months!  I can't wait to see how this room transforms!

DIY Valentine's Day Decorating

I can't believe it is almost time for Valentine's day in less than a month.

I am so excited to show you our new cupid design!  My amazingly talented sister drew this cupid outline for me.  It turned out even better then I imagined.  I love him so much I think he needs a name don't you?  Maybe Cupi the Cupid?!  I like that name, it has a nice ring to it!

If you would like to purchase your own cupid to decorate you can do so here

To finish my cupid I spray painted him and after the spray paint was good and dry I painted the top with Mod Podge and dumped glitter over the glue while it was still wet.  To help the glitter stay in place better I sealed it with 2 top coats of a water based polyurethane.
The back drop for my cupid is reclaimed wood I cut up and glued to the frame.

This beautiful Be Mine and love are also available for purchase
This is how the cutouts will look when you receive them.  They are then ready to be painted and decorated.

So Much Coming up!!

This year is off to a great start!
I have been out picking to collect treasures for 2 markets I am selling in!
Whenever I find something like this mirror set I always have a hard time selling it.
Doesn't it look so pretty right there?!

My first market is The Vintage Whites Market, which is held March 12th at the Utah State Fair Grounds.  I have been shopping this market for years, so you can imagine my excitement to be part of it this year.  If you are local to Utah you don't want to miss it.  You can see all the info here

My second market is the Spring Fling with the Reclaim-ologists and Other Craft Chicks. This market is held at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, Utah.  There are awesome classes and 60 vendors!

I will be taking some of my cutouts.
I will have various precut words

I will also have some of my reclaimed vintage rounds for sale!

And I am a little sad but I am thinning my milk glass collection and some of them will be coming with me.

I hope to see you there.  If you come please introduce yourself.  I love to meet new people and make new friends!!
